Running a Practice Session

Written by Rafiki Customer Success Team

Before you start

  • Make sure your microphone is connected and working

  • Use a quiet environment for best results

  • Close other tabs or apps that might use your microphone

  • We recommend using headphones to prevent echo

How to start a practice session

  1. Go to Role Play from the left sidebar

  2. Find the scenario you want to practice

  3. Click the Practice button on the scenario

  4. Allow microphone access when your browser prompts you

  5. Wait for the connection to establish — the AI persona will speak first with their opening line

During the session

Once connected, you'll see:

  • Status indicator — Shows whether the AI is listening or speaking

  • Timer — Tracks how long you've been in the session, with a progress bar showing time remaining

  • Live transcript — Your conversation appears in real-time, split between your lines (Rep) and the AI persona's lines (Prospect)

Tips for a great session

  • Speak naturally — Talk as you would on a real sales call

  • Pause between sentences — Give the AI a moment to process and respond

  • Stay in character — Treat this like a real prospect conversation

  • Listen carefully — The AI persona will drop hints about their pain points; pick up on them

  • Try to address objections — Don't just skip past pushback; acknowledge and respond

Ending the session

You can end the session in two ways:

  • Click the End Call button at any time

  • The session ends automatically when the max duration is reached (default: 10 minutes)

After ending, your conversation transcript is sent to Rafiki AI's AI coach for scoring. You'll be taken to the results page automatically.

Session time limits

Your organization has a monthly allocation of Role Play minutes. You can see your remaining minutes on the Role Play page. If you've used all your allocated minutes for the month, you won't be able to start new sessions until the next billing cycle.
