Call Scope: Internal vs. External
Rafiki AI classifies every meeting as either Internal or External based on the participants' email domains.
How Classification Works
Type | When it applies |
Internal | All participants share the same email domain as your organization (e.g., all @yourcompany.com) |
External | At least one participant has an email domain different from your organization (e.g., a prospect or customer) |
Why It Matters
Recording rules — You can configure Rafiki AI to only record External calls, skipping internal team meetings. Set this in Settings > Recording > Call Processing Scope.
Analytics — Filter analytics by call direction to focus on customer-facing conversations.
Deal association — External calls are more likely to be associated with CRM deals and accounts.
Phone-Only Participants
Participants who join via phone number (without an email) may be classified differently since domain matching is not possible. These are typically treated as external participants.
