Troubleshooting & Best Practices for Recording with Chrome Extension

Have issues with recording with the chrome extension?

Written by Rafiki Customer Success Team

Rafiki AI only transcribes and processes calls longer than 30 seconds with people speaking.

Problem - Unable to save Recording

  1. Click on the Rafiki AI Extension icon in the Chrome toolbar and click on Settings (gear icon).

  2. When logged in, it should display your email address.

  3. Click on the Logout button.

  4. Logout from app.getrafiki.ai and exit Chrome completely.

  5. Relaunch Chrome and login to app.getrafiki.ai.

  6. If you click on the Chrome Extension icon, it should already be logged in.

  7. Open Google Meet and start recording. Test with a 35-second recording, making sure you speak.

Stop recording, fill in the title, number of participants, email of participants, and submit.

Problem - Do not see the LOGOUT button in Chrome Extension

  1. Navigate to https://app.getrafiki.ai. Right-click on the main window and select Inspect.

  2. Go to the Application tab in DevTools. Clear Cookies, Local Storage, and Shared Storage for app.getrafiki.ai.

  3. Exit Chrome and reopen a new window.

  4. Login to app.getrafiki.ai.

  5. Test with Google Meet or Teams to confirm the extension shows as logged in.

Problem - Do not see the button to Start Recording

You do not see the Start Recording button for the Rafiki AI Chrome Extension in the toolbar.

Solution:

  1. Make sure you are not blocking cookies for the https://app.getrafiki.ai URL in Chrome settings.

  2. Log out of app.getrafiki.ai and clear cookies using the padlock icon to the left of the address bar.

  3. Quit Chrome browser completely (not just close the tabs).

If you are still having an issue, click on the gear icon to the right of the Rafiki AI logo and send a screenshot to [email protected].

Problem - Meeting not found in the dashboard

You stopped the recording but the meeting is not in the Meetings dashboard.

Solution: After stopping the recording, please make sure you enter a valid meeting title and the email address of all participants in the form.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please make sure you enter a valid, unique meeting title and specify the email address for all participants. This step is necessary for the AI engine to identify different speakers in the call.

Problem - Meeting upload failed

You see an error when you click the submit button after entering the meeting title.

Solution:

  1. Click on the Rafiki AI Extension icon in the Chrome toolbar and click on Settings (gear icon).

  2. Verify it shows your email address as logged in.

  3. Click the Logout button.

  4. Logout from app.getrafiki.ai and exit Chrome completely.

  5. Relaunch Chrome and login to app.getrafiki.ai.

  6. The Chrome Extension icon should show you as logged in.

  7. Test with a 35-second recording and submit.

Problem - Recording window closed accidentally

Once recording starts, a background window opens. Do not close this window at any point. It will close automatically once the file upload has been completed.

Problem - Echo in my recording

Why is there an echo in my recording?

Solution: This happens if internal audio and speaker audio are being picked up simultaneously. To solve this, use headphones with a microphone.

Best Practice Tip for Screen Sharing:

  • For better presentations and to prevent mirroring, share a new window or a specific tab instead of the meeting window.
